Ultimate flexibility on-the-go: both the LifeStudio Desk Plus and the LifeStudio Mobile Plus come with a detachable 4 GB USB key, so you can carry exactly what you need with you on-the-go. Since the key auto-syncs to the drive or your computer, there is no need to carry your hard drive with you, giving you ultimate flexibility. The key clips into place on the drive with a magnetic connector and the included simple sync management software makes it easy to set your syncing preferences.
Ultimate flexibility with the USB key
LifeStudio Mobile Plus and Desk Plus products include a 4 GB USB key. The contents on the key are displayed in the MyKey channel under MyLife. You can sync the content you wish to take with you on-the-go once the key is connected to the drive or dock.
Use the convenient sync feature to specify the folders on your computer or another drive you want to sync with your key. Simply dock your USB key to your drive and select your sync preferences by clicking the preferences icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the LifeStudio window. Then, just specify which folders you want to sync to your key.
Setting your sync preferences is easy, too. Select the folder(s) you want to sync and turn the sync on. Any changes you make to the selected files or folders on the computer will be automatically synced to your key.
To add new files and folders, select the option "Import new files and folders -" and your files and folders are automatically imported from the key back to your computer.
Select the option ”Import changes …” to automatically import any changes from the key to your computer. Without this option selected, any changes you make on the key will be ignored and replaced with the latest on the computer.
Deleting files on your key and turning sync off
At any time, you can permanently delete files from your key that are being synced.
- Open your Sync preferences.
- Select the folders you want to remove from your key from the Folders to Sync to MyKey.
- Click Delete folder.
If you delete any files or folders on your key without removing them from the folders you previously set in the MyKey channel, the sync feature will recopy those files and folders to your key the next time a sync session is performed.
To stop sync, select OFF from sync preferences.
The USB key has an embedded 4 GB MicroSD card inside and can be easily upgraded if you desire more capacity.
